In celebration of her fourth long-player, Spunk Records is very pleased to announce Holly Throsby’s 'Team' tour. After a sell out show in Sawtell last May, Holly is back to appease the hoards of fans that missed out last time.
This is the biggest tour that Throsby and her band, The Hello Tigers, have embarked on since 2008. It takes them to all edges of Australia, including a stop off in Bellingen, with 21 shows throughout March, April & May.
Following 2008’s internationally acclaimed A Loud Call, Team was recorded in a 19th century church in the NSW Southern Highlands with long-time collaborator, Tony Dupe. Set amidst teams of wooden instruments – cello, violin, upright bass, piano, pump organ and nylon string guitar - the album presents its own little universe of cascading songs: explorations of companionship, separation, and the natural world. In a live setting, Throsby and her band render these new songs beautifully and inventively, with Bree van Reyk on drums, accordion and broken tool kit percussion & Jens Birchall on cello, bass & mandolin.
Support for the night will be Brisbane based, vintage synth collector/musician, Seja.
The show will be held at Bellingen Memorial Hall on Sunday 1st of May. Doors open at 6:30pm with the show kicking off at 7pm.
Tickets available from www.oztix.com.au or www.hollythrosby.com or at the door.
